DIY ombre hair

i don't usually do posts of myself but i was recently asked on the mr price blog who did the ombre in my hair and the answer is... me!

it's actualy really easy, so here's step by step instructions on how to do it yourself.

NEED:

kair blonde highlighting kit - around R40 from most supermarkets and pharmacies - this is the brand i use but i'm sure any highlighting kit will do.

these times are guidelines for dark blonde hair.

1.mix the bleach together as per the instructions on the box
2. split your hair in half at the back and bring it all to the front on your chest.
3. put the gloves and rub the bleach in your hair, around 5cm from the ends and ensure it is rubbed in properly.
4. wrap the bleached hair in tinfoil so that none of the bleach is sticking out and leave in for 10 minutes.
5. add more bleach to the lengths of your hair, approx another 10cm up, in addition to the bleach that is already in your hair and leave in for a further 20 minutes.
6. take the tinfoil out your hair and rinse thoroughly, add some conditioner as it will be a bit damaged and dry your hair.
if you want to go even lighter, repeat the process.

different shades of hair (and whether it is the natural colour or dyed) will take different amounts of time to lighten therefore constantly monitor your hair while the bleach is in.
make sure the ends are in the bleach for about 10-15 mintues longer than the rest of the ombre hair to achieve the fading look.

i did my bff's hair miss molly and her hair is quite a bit darker than mine and here are the results.
